Hello fellow dietetic students! My name is Amanda and I am honored to be the Featured All Access Internships student blogger. It combines two of my most favorite passions: nutrition (duh!) and blogging.
A little bit about me: I attend New York University as a graduate dietetic student. I’ve been seriously into nutrition and health after I lost about 20 pounds in college (the natural way, thank you very much): teaching myself to eat well, exercising, cutting out 2am pizza binges! Watching my body transform, in addition to how amazing I felt through the process, fueled a hunger to learn anything I could about nutrition. The desire to help others become healthy and feel their best through food and nutrition soon followed. And so, here I am.
I started a blog last year, Cake and Carrots (www.cakeandcarrots.wordpress.com) that unfortunately fizzled out last year during finals. I was also the nutrition blogger at Naked Apartments (www.nakedapartments.com) in addition to being a guest blogger for other nutrition sites. I have a presence on Twitter that I’ve been building (@cakeandcarrots) around anything health related. So that’s why my being your student blogger is such a great fit for me.
My aim, as your blogger, is to be your voice. I’ll be posting on the latest nutrition news (seriously, one more E.coli recall and I’m gonna scream!) and my own experiences with food and eating (and believe me, there are many!). What I ask from you, please, is to participate: comment, tell me what YOU want to hear about, and share your experiences with us.
With love and nutrients,
Amanda
