Featured Intern: Amanda Sauceda Says Hello!

Hi all!!

I am very excited to be the Featured Intern blogger for AAI! A little about me: My interest in nutrition was sparked before I even knew what that word meant, I just loved food! I was still a kid on the playground but I gladly handed out "advice" to my family about what they should be eating even when they didn't want to hear it. Maybe it was because my "advice" consisted of what a lot of people see RD's as, the food police. I have since learned better and have been pursuing to become an RD since junior year of high school. In my spare time you will almost always find me with a book, I love to read! You’ll also find me at the dog park running around with my little dog Rusty!

My internship begins at the end of this month, August 30th, and I can’t wait to start. I will be completing my internship at the same school where I finished my bachelor's degree. And just because I haven't officially started the internship does not mean I haven't been doing anything. There has been lots of paperwork, gathering info, and trips to the doctor to catch up on immunizations. First piece of intern insight, tetanus shots leave your arm very sore!

Until rotations start I'll be blogging about some of the things that I have had to do in preparation for the internship. So if you have any particular questions about what it has been like prepping for it just leave a comment. Or if you have any questions about what I did in the summer to prep for applications just let me know.

Amanda
