We assume that life will be roses if we own our own business.....but here is what you need to think about when going on your own:
-Rent space
-Re-credential yourself under all of the plans as an independent practitioner if you are planning on taking insurance.
-Possibly hire someone to take your phone calls, schedule your patients, check eligibility, authorize visits, bill, and collect co-pays or full fee
-Obtain your own premise liability insurance and other insurance
-Establish your own phone line
-Create and make sure patients signed your legal forms when they come into see you
-Market your services
Take a self inventory. Are you ready to go on your own? Fall is a great time to assess and re-assess your needs. You can wipe the slate clean at start anew at anytime.
