When was the last time you had a play date and had a TON of fun?I’m not talking about getting together with a girlfriend and going shopping. I’m talking about a real play date where you just…well, played.
It’s almost officially spring time, which means Summer is around the corner. For most of us that means a reprieve from school. So what better opportunity than to get into the habit of playing. We work hard, so shouldn’t we play hard, too? (And a night of drinking and partying doesn’t count.)
What I’m referring to is doing cartwheels across the park lawn. Dancing in your undies in your apartment (shades up or down, depending on your modesty). Exploring a new neighborhood in your city, on foot, seeing where the day leads you. Taking up a new creative hobby, like painting or crafts. Something NOT related to school and nutrition. Something childish, silly, and fun.
I spent last Saturday, all day, at a Visioning Class, making a collage about my life and my aspirations. I felt like a child again, cutting magazines and using a glue stick, my hands all sticky from the tacky glue. It was, in a word, amazing. And incredibly fun.
So, fellow students, my question to you is: How do you plan to have FUN? What are you going to do on your play date? Get creative and DO IT!
