When Chris went to the store a few days later, he came back with a jar of cinnamon sticks. “We can grind them in the coffee grinder.” Perhaps it would enhance the flavor. It was definitely worth trying.
It took me a few days to get around to it (cleaning the coffee grinder proved to be an oddly daunting task), but a week or so later, while procrastinating on a project, I finally sucked it up and ground up some cinnamon. All I did was place sticks in the grinder, a few at a time, and hold the button down until they’d been ground into a fine powder.
I have to admit, the flavor does seem a little fresher. The only problem is that now the coffee grinder smells like cinnamon!
I tried to make French Macarons and used the coffee grinder to make almond flour. It worked but every time I grind beans, it has bits of almond!
ReplyDeletei don't know if i'd consider a cinnamon smelling coffee grinder a problem, but i definitely have two separate grinders-one for coffee and one for spices/flax/almonds!
ReplyDeletegurl I buy the cinna sticks instead of the powder because d scent is so much more potent. ......well there's nothing wrong with a lil cinna flavour in your coffee lol
ReplyDeleteCheers to that. I put cinnamon on almost everything. In coffee, it's an added bonus!
